Job Seeker
There are four common
types of interview questions: |
|
1) Situational
Questions: These questions are hypothetical job situations, (i.e. "What would you do
if...").
2) Knowledge Assessment Questions: These questions deal with the technical knowledge
essential to job performance.
3) Worker Requirement Questions: These questions relate to the ability to work under
different conditions (i.e. "Are you willing to travel?"). They usually
refer to the characteristics and duties associated with the position.
4) Sample/Simulation Questions: These include mock-ups of job samples and/or
questions using the terminology of the job.

Interviewers pay as much attention
to how you say something as they do to what you are saying. It is important to
demonstrate that you are able to adapt your communication style to the person with whom
you are interacting. If you find yourself in a pressure situation in regard to an
interview question there are three simple guidelines that should always be followed: 1)
Act courteous; 2) Maintain tact; and 3) Demonstrate confidence. Do not get
frustrated or angry, do not agree when you actually disagree, and do not over explain your
answers. Be professional, and communicate honestly and in doing so you will greatly
increase your chances of receiving a job offer. |
